I've had this router for a few months now. Here are my thoughts: Installation: Installing MikroTik is clearly not for the faint of heart. This thing has all the options you could want in the most complicated way. For some strange reason, fairly infrequently used settings like RADIUS are in the top-level navigation item in the configuration, while "everyday" things like changing the WiFi password require you to go to the "Wireless Network" section, and then there's a " Security Profiles" where you need to create or edit a "security profile" and then you need to go back to the WiFi interfaces and then select the network you want to use (which doesn't look like a hyperlink but it is! ) and then apply the security profile you created. Why they didn't create an option to remove a simple network key from the wifi setup is beyond me. It's abstraction upon abstraction upon abstraction. But if you've always created multiple security profiles wanted, each with separate keys and different ciphers, each with different rotation schedules, you can do this with this router. Everyone. Lonely. Networking. And also. Wireless. Possibility. Is. Exposed.Power: This thing packs a full watt of power, and it definitely does. I can get my signal about half a block away in a dense urban area. Form Factor: It definitely won't win any awards at an art show, but it's very functional. White and square means it fits almost anywhere. Ventilation holes for warmth. There is a USB port on the side. Power and PoE/Ethernet ports are conveniently located. Price: great price. There are routers that are easily 2-3 times more expensive, but perform half as well. It's worth spending more for something easier to set up, bringing more common options to the fore and hiding settings you'll never use.
