I spent a lot of time making this farmhouse dining table for our house so I didn't want to throw anything at it. First I told my soul mate that I wanted to cover the tablecloth so there was nothing on the table. Then, since she had done it well many times before, she explained to me what the point of making a beautiful wooden table by hand is when I just wanted to hide it. They also explained to me that such a table should show all its marks, dents and signs of wear. It tells years of family and friendship stories, which she explained further. That's why she's my better half. Anyway, after she showed me about a dozen runners at the table, we both decided this was the right one. It's very basic, but definitely looks like more. When he came to our table and uncovered the dishes, it seemed like he was always there. I understand that a table runner is not a big deal for most people. But for me it's an accent on a piece of furniture that I made and our kids and grandkids will enjoy eating and drinking and I wanted something that would suit them (and me) and this runner is the right way. If you have a country style home, I think you will love it as much as we do.
