I have been crocheting for over 30 years and have tried many crochet patterns. I prefer built-in hooks because the hook doesn't hang on the yarn and separate the threads, greatly slowing down the process. These hooks have such a built-in design. What really impressed me is that where they were made in the molds there are no defects. Many of the other acrylic crochet hooks I've tried have tiny parts of the manufacturing process that catch on the yarn and don't go smoothly. Of the 5 hooks in this set, not a single one was defective. They're also made with a nice flat surface for your thumb and middle finger. Most crochet hooks have branding or other raised writing on these flat areas that become very uncomfortable when crocheting for long periods of time. Thanks to the creator/designer of these hooks!
