This is a review of the Napier Sportz Truck Tent Blue/Grey. First I bought a Napier Backroadz tent. He arrived the day before his scheduled trip to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. I decided to do a test setup before I went (highly recommended) and found a very minor issue related to a fully closed tab. This tab had to be opened on one side to accommodate one of the fiberglass rods. I contacted Napier customer service and explained the problem but said I still need to use a tent and can fix this by cutting out some of the stitching. Napier gave me permission to do this and asked for some photos of the release, which I sent to them. They sent me a brand new tent body right away! This is outstanding customer service to die for! Great job Napier! Now let's move on to reviewing the tent. Arriving at the music festival, we set up a tent (it's so easy!) and it started raining immediately. We have also set up temporary Coleman housing. It was raining so hard that while the water shot THROUGH the fabric of the pop up tonneau cover there wasn't a single drop in the tent! The bone is dry! I was so damn impressed! In fact, I was so impressed that when we got home I looked for the more expensive Sportz tent, which while basically the same, has some extra bells and whistles, better ventilation, and a fancier vestibule/entrance. It works perfectly too, and (if possible) I'm even happier with it! Both tents fit perfectly in the box of my 2018 Toyota Tacoma long bed. I made a raised bed platform out of two 2x6s and a piece of 3/4" plywood. An inflatable air mattress is placed on top and storage space is created below for camping gear. This arrangement still leaves plenty of room in the tent. I am very happy with this setup and looking forward to it Here's to the 2019 camping season!
