I noticed that after a few months the buttons became more difficult to press. They then began to stick, requiring the use of a jeweler's screwdriver to pry the stuck buttons open. The control buttons on this unit do not light up. I'll be looking for a replacement with backlit control buttons, with the ability to turn the backlight off during the day. I found backlit button controls required weekly battery changes; not only for the light function, but also if the control is accidentally jammed between the seat or sofa cushions or held for too long. Also note that the control buttons are too small for my fingers.
