Get this set if you want to turn your bins into a thriving farm. None of these materials are essential to your functioning worm bins, but they will greatly improve the health of your worm bins and improve the quality of the soil in your garden. the material is non-acidic and attractive to fruit and house flies. A less expensive but worthwhile alternative is to use lots of coir and your own paper. Glacial rock dust is sand for worms to digest food and increases the mineral content of plant soil. Your own coffee grounds and crushed eggshells are a cheaper way to get sand, but they don't have the mineral effects of glacial rock dust. Good luck and happy composting!
