Broke 2 weeks after installation

These knobs look nice. But the bottom line is that the part of the handle that takes the most stress when opening the door is plastic. Just plastic. It just isn't strong enough over time not to wear down. This part must be metal or reinforced plastic. A temporary attachment wouldn't be a bad thing at this price point if it weren't for the difficulty of replacing that part. You don't want to do it again. So by all means, do yourself a favor and pay the money for a genuine Ford part. At some point it will break.
