If you install it on a regular door, you probably won't encounter my problems. I installed a nailed yard gate to keep the dog out of my woodpile. I screwed the hinges into the wooden fence, leaving the hole for the spring locking pin inaccessible (against the fence). If multiple holes were drilled in the cylinder it wouldn't be a problem, but there is only one hole. I finally tensioned the spring and installed the pin first, then screwed the hinges in all the way. Sound easy? Try to open the tight loop and at the same time install the screw with a drill.
