If you install it on a regular door, you probably won't encounter my problems. I installed a nailed yard gate to keep the dog out of my woodpile. I screwed the hinges into the wooden fence, leaving the hole for the spring locking pin inaccessible (against the fence). If multiple holes were drilled in the cylinder it wouldn't be a problem, but there is only one hole.
