I have used these scales/rulers extensively in the aviation world. This is one of the first tools I pull out of my toolbox almost every time. And since they're 3/4 inch wide, that's a big plus for many layouts that require near-edge tolerances. This is a scale that, with proper care, will last a lifetime. A small amount of oil or wax will keep them from rusting in foam tool boxes. I cannot recommend them enough. Tell your friends, family, maybe even your spouse.
