I've had the Shark Steam Mop for about 7 months now and love it! It's very light, which is important to me as I have back problems and can't lift or push heavy equipment. It heats up very quickly and starts producing vapor quickly. I find it best to fill it with multiple pumps to get good vapor pressure. A few "practice grips" are needed to wet the microfiber cloth and then it's done. I change cleaning clothes when I finish a large room or 2 small ones. I've also found that if you get the handle height right, you slide it in and out automatically, just like you would directly. You can always inflate the pen if needed, but I don't find it necessary in most cases. I love Shark because I have 3 cats, 2 of which are older. All my floors are Pergo, a blessing as cats tend to get hairballs and older cats have sensitive digestions. Shark is excellent for cleaning Pergo floors. Even with dried spots, if you steam over it once and let it sit for 30 seconds and then come back to it, a second stroke will wipe most of them away. Sometimes I have to steam something twice and wipe twice or thrice, but that's rare. And I don't "brush" or put hard pressure on my back. I've had a lot of experience with my Shark and that's after buying a $300 Bissell hard floor vacuum that got my floor wet and used up the branded cleaning solution. What a waste of money! Shark is way more profitable - less than a third cheaper and three times more fun!
