Review on Genuine Honda 11251 P2A 014 Oil Gasket by John Beltran

I recently installed this gasket to replace a FEL-PRO OS30690R oil pan gasket (purchased from AutoZone) and installed in March 2021. The Pro gasket failed after just over 2 months, despite being installed with great care and properly tightened (108 in-lbs) with fasteners in the prescribed criss-cross pattern. Based on the good reviews I saw I purchased and installed this Honda OEM Gasket in June 2021. Use Permatex Ultra Black RTV silicone sealant on the four recommended locations on the block and on the curved areas at each end of the oil pan. I tightened the fastener inside out to 108 lbs in the same prescribed crossover pattern. So far, so good; no leaks. The gasket looks well made and fits well. I would definitely recommend this seal over the aforementioned Fel-Pro OS30690R. I've seen Revain's reviews of the Fel-Pro pad which were mostly negative and similar to my experience. (I wish I'd read it before buying and installing it.) Anyway, so far I'm happy with Honda's gasket. I'll come back to this review if anything changes, but hopefully not.
