Review on πŸ’Ž Diamond Drill Bit Set by Neiko: Superior Performance for Precision Drilling by Boss Spangler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cuts ceramics with ease!

== Introduction My seedlings have started flowering and I wanted to transplant some of them into ceramic cups and bowls for display. After buying some nice mugs and bowls, I found that drilling holes in the ceramic material is not easy. It took several hours to drill five holes in the bottom of three cups with a masonry drill. There must be a better and faster way. After some searching on the internet I found out that I need diamond drill bits. A search for cheap diamond core bits on the Revain website led me to a set of Neiko Tools diamond hole saws.== Packaging As you can see from the attached photos the packaging of the set is very basic. The bits are housed in a foam cutout. No fancy plastic case, just parts, foam and outer packaging with product name and picture. I was pleased with the simple packaging as it is a factor in reducing the overall cost. ==Performance Before receiving Neiko Diamond-Tipped Tool Crown Bits. I bought a general purpose hole saw from my local hardware store that was advertised for drilling holes in concrete, metal, plastic, and wood. I also bought a set of diamond drill bits from my local budget tool store to finish drilling holes in the ceramic mugs and bowls I had already bought. The universal nozzle hardly left a scratch on the ceramic material. Diamond bits worked better, but were completely worn out after drilling three or fewer holes. Neiko Tools diamond sand drill bits arrived a day early. With about 20 ceramic pots, mugs, and bowls bought at the flea market, I was ready to use the diamond bits. With a screwdriver in one hand and a spray can in the other hand, I started drilling at a 45 degree angle and as the diamond bit drilled into the ceramic surface I slowly changed the angle so that it was perpendicular to the surface, up where I was. worked. drill in Three zilch and in a few seconds the hole was pierced. I was really impressed with how easy it was to drill a hole in the ceramic material. Reviews were mixed so I had my doubts at first, but I was delighted with the results. The following tips have proven useful for my project. β€’ Wear safety goggles and a dust mask. This is necessary for your security. β€’ Like any drill, the Neiko Tools Diamond Sand Hole Saw will dull over time. The time depends on the material you are drilling in and whether or not you use lube. β€’ Be patient and take your time, especially if you are new to this business. Your patience will pay off with results. β€’ Lubricate when drilling. This prolongs the life of your drill bit by reducing heat and dust particles, resulting in cleaner cuts β€’ Start drilling at a 45 degree angle and slowly adjust to 90 degrees as the bit begins to cut into the material β€’ Wear very little pressure. and let the saw cut. β€’ Bear in mind that the drill bit becomes blunter with each drill hole. Since the drill became dull, I had to increase the pressure a bit. β€’ As the bur dulled, I had to grip the bur with both hands to get the bur to cut into the ceramic material. Once the bat started cutting, only one hand was required. The other hand returned with a squirt gun. β€’ To further extend the life of my bits, I used smaller diamond core bits from my local budget hardware store to make a smaller hole and then reworked/enlarged the hole size with the Neiko tool. diamond bits. At the time of writing this article, I've only used one drill and it's not completely used up. Ceramic is smoother and more useful with Neiko Tool diamond bits. For its performance and especially its price, consider this tool a one-time use when the bits become dull. Lubricate the bits to extend their life and buy a new set when the old ones wear out. Alternatively, you can opt for more expensive kits for longer life. Based on my results I would recommend this set to anyone who needs to drill holes in ceramic material.
