Review on πŸ”§ Alltrade 643242 3/4" Drive 55mm 12-Point Socket, Silver by Chris Hossain

Powerful 55mm 12-point socket

OK, I don't expect a tool I'll need on a regular basis, but it has both positives and negatives to note: thin wall, 12-point, and a stepped one Head-to-head plug-in drive design is beneficial in all three cases when torque specifications are moderate (200 Newtons/meter or about 150 ft/lbs or less). The teeth in the bushing are shaped to transfer pressure from the sharp edges of the nut to a flat surface, reducing the chance of the nut edges "rounding off" if the bushing slips. which unfortunately limits the torque that can be safely applied without damaging the bushing wall. They are also much more compact and easier to use than high impact hex sockets, but they are not suitable for high torque applications. I'm going to use it for touring pinions that have a spec of around 120 N/m (90 ft/lb), so it's fine; other applications may require a larger portion.
