Review on Aqua Pure Whole House Filtration System by Eddie Rivas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Skip this if using a borehole system.

Bought for my new home at the well. I had a 50 micron squeeze filter and a 5 micron sediment filter installed in front of this unit. That way he didn't have to see a lot of sediment/dirt. He did a good job of eliminating the smell/taste. I can't comment on how well it handled downscaling. I still had a lot of stains on the dishes in the dishwasher and limescale in the shower. My water hardness is 12 gpg. This unit uses polyphosphate to reduce deposits while some of the larger units on the market use TAC. As far as I understand, TAC is better. These blocks are also more expensive, so this can be a case where you get what you pay for. This device seems well made, but I think they're just trying to do too much in this small package. It was only about 4 months before I saw a major pressure drop and had to have it removed. I think this is best used where you have relatively clean city water. It just couldn't handle my fountain system. Since then I have replaced it with 4.5 x 20" filters and the water flow/taste/smell is better. However, my new GAC 4.5 x 20" filter is larger and heavier than this unit.

Pros
  • CORROSION RESISTANT: The 304 stainless steel head can be installed on existing copper piping in the home. It is made of a corrosion-resistant material that ensures a long service life. Connection Type: Female NPT
Cons
  • Crumpled
