Review on Irwin Screwdriver Set, 4-Piece (Model 1948799) by Josh Tadder

Revainrating 5 out of 5

useful screwdriver set

This handpicked screwdriver set fits (smaller) household screw sizes. Has flat edges for thumb rest. It's comfortable and the grip is excellent. Possibly the best type of grip I've seen on a screwdriver (for my medium-sized male hands), with the exception of Irwin's own "destructive" screwdriver, which has a heavier metal-core grip, which I like even more. That compares to (at least) half a dozen different screwdriver sets I have at home. The textured blue handles (with yellow trim) look great, and the pointed type is stamped into the end of the handle, so you don't have to pull a screwdriver out of a drawer or toolbox to check if it's flat or Phillips acts. My only issue with this set is that you may still need a larger Phillips wrench for heavy screws (or hand driving screws into wood). ), so maybe it should have been 5 pieces. And they unfortunately use that awful old plastic clamshell packaging that has drawn so much criticism from consumers over the past decade. Neither of these issues are enough for me to lower my rating, although the clamshell packaging is bland. Irwin hand tools were new to me and so far I'm impressed. Only time will tell how well they hold up and if these pretty looks get ruined after fiddling around in my toolbox. But for now, good design and attention to detail make these drivers worth recommending.
