Review on πŸ”Š PAC BB-1PR: High-Quality Bass Blocker/Passive Crossover Pair for Enhanced Audio Performance by Mark Jefferson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There is not much to say. It does what it's supposed to do without overheating.

Not much to say about these capacitors. They do pretty much what you would expect proper bipolar capacitors to do. The packaging is a bit superfluous (which could presumably make it difficult to place inside) but overall I don't think that's really a problem. The capacitors seemed pretty close to their rating (for the record, that's 133uF - I forgot the exact value they calculated as capacitors tend to come in some very specific sets), but then I just could check what I obviously had on hand, and although I didn't check it, if they can handle a full 50 watts of power for an extended period of time, I have had no problems with their intended application (and admittedly a lower powered speaker) without significant heat generation or the like. As you'd expect they work exactly as they should in a first order filter and the low frequencies are actually reduced enough to improve the crossover and avoid distortion and clipping. So yes, they work as they should. No complaints or really very serious room for improvement. as it should be in a first order filter, and the low frequencies are actually reduced enough to improve the crossover and avoid distortion and clipping.
