When you need the ability to touch up the edge AND secure many other tools. Seriously check out these

Okay, I've had a lot of "pocket" knife sharpeners and one of the things that always pissed me off was that I could usually get a pretty decent edge on a knife (when also not always the correct TYPE/ANGLE of the edge) if there were serrations on the blade there was nothing I could do about it without a separate set of small files and one or more "diamonds". "Whetstones on hand too. What usually turned into a pretty decent set of sharpening tools. This tool allowed me to do one of the things I really enjoy doing. All the tools I need in one "multifunctional It's smaller, lighter, and almost as effective as the kit above, plus additional features. So while the compass is a bit questionably useful, as a compass anyway, it's a handy little lever to use the tool pull out of the elastic loop I usually keep. A ferro wand will probably fit. Hopefully never needed but it's there. And last but not least, the emergency whistle is LOUD! And the extra one of these is REALLY nice to have.
