Good for an art novice.

Suitable for a person unable to properly sharpen a knife using stones OR to temporarily restore the edge of a properly sharpened blade when the environment, time or place requires proper sharpening with do not allow wet stones. This gives the knife a decent sharpness, but nothing more. If you expect more from this device, then learn how to properly sharpen your knife. Great sharpener with bonus features.

TLDR Version: Buy if you want a good sharpener and are not a survival idiot. Do not buy this if you have any illusions of surviving in the ultra light as you will likely die. This little device has a fun design that packs a lot of nice features into a compact design. The through-hole sharpener is not a new idea and works on the principle of creating a small micro edge that can be quite sharp.
