I've just used 3D printed brass inserts for the first time and it's AWESOME! (I've heard of them for a long time and have had a few, but haven't used them to date.) 1. Design a 6mm diameter hole in your design (at least 6mm deep) and 3D2 print it. Heat the insert with a soldering iron and insert it into the hole. The plastic melts around the insert and then back onto the insert.3. No step 3. :-) Instead of putting pressure on the plastic you now have a nice threaded insert to use and the connection is STRONG.
