I have used a variety of spiralizers and also have a Spiral-Pro Professional. They are all plastic and they all pale in comparison to this simple, efficient and reliable stainless steel device! Why on earth would anyone buy a flimsy plastic cutter when they are available? My SPIRALIZER is definitely redundant now and on the way to a thrift store. There are so many advantages of this device. Functionality is also commendable, with its long stroke and ability to eject chopped veggies right over the bowl without protruding parts of the machine getting in the way and throwing veggies in silly directions. Finally, it's less complex than many plastic jobs and much easier to set up, use, and then clean. Four legs on suction cups hold it well during operation and the cut is accurate. and neat. If you are concerned about the pen with the inscription "incl. "off" is an interlock that keeps the spindle from slipping out when not in use. So I can't think of a single reason to even consider a plastic spiralizer if it's available. It's like choosing between a tonka toy and a real truck If you want the job to be done properly and not just played, that's no problem I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this device to you.
