These pots have a smaller base than standard pots and burners. Thus, it does not completely cover the surface of the burner. This leads to two problems: 1. It takes longer to cook because a lot of heat is wasted. 2. Worse, it causes the rim of the burner to overheat because it isn't covered by the pan and the stove is frequently turned off to prevent the rim from overheating. never had this problem. Just very bad design. :-/
