Of all the products advertised as 'Chinese' on Revain I found this to be the only product that is genuinely Chinese and not a sieve where the cone is a fine metal mesh instead of a sieve . Full metal with round holes. If you are looking for a thin cone filter that can filter out all but the smallest of solids, buy this one. I use it to strain soup stock and to make mashed peppers into hot sauce, and in both cases it's extremely important to me that I get clear liquid results with no solid residue. The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is because unlike some other cone filters, this one doesn't come with a stand. While it has a handle that allows it to be hung over a pot, it's not exactly practical if you're vigorously rubbing the contents of the colander with a pestle, and it won't stay in place.
