I've used rubber band wrenches in the past but they rarely hold up well enough and eventually fail. This chain adheres strongly, but at the expense of surface damage. (A common problem I need one of these for is the chlorine dispenser lid, which is all plastic.) The reach is a bit narrow in the normal (screwed-in) position, making it a bit difficult to hook the chain. in the desired position. Of course you can loosen the set screw to widen the jaws. However, it is a bit difficult to hook the chain in the right place, especially in narrow places. I don't think this is a necessary design flaw compared to how this type of tool would work.
