The buttons on this visually identical remote control are so stiff they are difficult to press. In other cases, simply changing the channel (up or down) simply sends no signal. The backlit buttons turn on, so I know the channel up or down button has been activated internally, but it's clear the signal isn't leaving the remote as the TV just sits there unaffected. Other buttons/functions on the remote control seem to behave the same and very often nothing happens. It seems that the best possible, straight - almost vertical - line of sight is required for the IR signal from this remote to actually be received by the TV. Using the remote at an angle in a room is very difficult or impossible and seems to work best when very close to the TV. Based on that I would say that this remote has a very weak IR signal. Why not 1 star? I'm torn - the device works right out of the box - and almost - I usually take a 1 star for a product that's completely useless. If you only need it for casual use to access TV features and don't expect OEM performance AND you know and understand that you need to be in sight and close to the TV, buy it. As for me, I would not buy this item again.
