EDIT UPDATE: After upgrading to Comcast Extreme Internet Pack 125 down and 26 up the router and matching USB wireless adapter give me a connection at full speed on cable. In the original review I mentioned 52 down. I wasn't sure if id would perform well and in general is the guy who mixes and matches a USB adapter with a router. But that gives me my full 52-57Mbps with the N900usb, which translates to 420 speeds in Wireless N on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I used to buy a USB adapter that never matched the speed of the router and only provided 5GHz 300 speeds, but only got about 30Mbps wirelessly. This is the first thing that gave me a WiFi speed on both channels of my full connection from 52 to 57 (and also 126 down, recently updated May 2014). I was only able to achieve this before making a direct connection. So buying a proper router and USB really helps. When I checked the WiFi speed menu in Windows (right click to open network and sharing settings on the desktop wireless icon), 2.4GHz only showed 190-230 and 5GHz shows 420. I was under the impression that I didn't have any full wireless connection would be obtained. I HAVE MADE! After several consecutive speed tests, both 2.4 and 5 GHz channels showed my full wireless connection, which is 52-57 times lower than Comcast. Both channels feel fast and responsive, like I'm connected directly. My living room is big and the PC is the desktop at the other end. PROS: Easy to set up, there's also an app for your Android phone to reset the connection. For a month and a half I had no problems. Never died or forced to restart. Slightly better range coverage. It extends further (3 rooms). Now I've noticed an extra band of 2 on all my portable wireless devices (tablet and cellphone) instead of a fluctuating 1 or disconnect. I can actually use it normally without disconnecting. Not sure what people mean by "warmth", I ran it non-stop and it had absolutely no heat front, back or top. This is probably the coolest router I've had in years. I will never buy a Cisco again that has a flat design but has always felt warmer/hotter and many apps have been manually reset or discarded. Limited connection or not working, forcing me to reset. I had 3 routers and one was provided free by Cisco and each had a reset issue or weird connection within 2 weeks. This rugged, beautiful design delivers the speed it advertises and can send my ISP a full wireless connection. Dlink convinced me. In the online menu I configured everything so that it only works with WLAN N. It has medium and high settings for wireless transmission. I use the Cisco menu, but it's pretty much the same, just a little more organized (IMO). It has a guessing mode with its own password. Make sure you are using the correct card or USB adapter for the router's baud rate. This is a speed of 420 on both 2.4 and 5 GHz. If you don't do this, you'll never get the advertised WiFi speed. CONS: None yet. I have a tablet, android phone, wireless pc, playstation 4 and wireless smart tv running on multiple channels from 2.4-5GHz. No delays or anything unusual. My streaming services connect directly to the TV at 5GHz and everything else at 2.4GHz. Some might find this a disadvantage, but a forced reset is performed every time you change a setting in the online menu. This takes 80 seconds and has a countdown before reconnecting. I have no problem with it and it will definitely cut power. I would recommend if there are multiple settings on the page to change them first and then save. Instead of one after the other. It takes longer than some routers to force a reboot after a setting change, but as it's beyond my expectations and the announcement. I have no problem with that. I would buy this again. RANDOM PERSONAL INFO: I was about to buy an AC router but decided on this one with N 420 WiFi speed because I had $20 credit on Revain and decided to give it a try (glad I did) . According to research, top routers have a speed of 420 on one or both radio channels. Another reason I never bought an AC router was that it mostly broadcast 2.4GHz at 300 which never allowed me to get a full 52-57Mbps ISP wireless connection. Only 5GHz could be connected with AC speed. I was told it would default to the lowest speed unless I'm using an AC connection. I don't have wireless AC connection and wasn't sure if my 2013 plasma had AC speed. If I bought an AC router, I wouldn't be able to use the AC speed. I could only buy an adapter for my PC. Everything else in the house and soon PlayStation 4 will be Wireless N. I know they are backwards compatible. but I don't want the device to slow down because the other wireless elements are not AC but N. Another reason is that the AC speeds aren't final yet, so we can improve later with 2.4GHz channels. After inspection, there are too few 2.4 GHz channels, but with me everything is 2.4 and 5 GHz N. It was logical to buy this device with a speed of 420 on both radio channels. This is the best router I've had in the last 3-4 years. I'm really happy with it.
