Revainrating 5 out of 5

Multipurpose use ▪️Stays sharp ▪️Lightweight, ergonomic, balanced long metal handle Not for everyone

This 5.3" full shaft utility knife from Hast is a quality utility knife that I use every day. for example cutting small and medium-sized fruits and vegetables and much more. While I don't consider a utility knife as essential as a chef's knife, paring knife or bread knife, I use it frequently and it's a great addition to my collection as I find its size handy for many everyday tasks. This is my first non-serrated utility knife, so I would get a lot more use out of it if it worked for me as well as a smaller chef's knife.Steel meant to stay sharper longer. I can't fully judge the claim that it stays sharper longer, other than that I've used the knife a lot in the last month and it hasn't needed sharpening yet. I use this utility knife daily for things like slicing raw potatoes, slicing papayas in half, slicing larger peppers and tomatoes, removing fat from small pieces of raw meat, and so on. I get really clean cuts even when slicing very thin. I like the urban industrial or minimalist look with all-metal construction throughout. It's casual and understated, yet attractive. A matte silver finish looks great and one factor in choosing a matte finish is that it wears better than black or gloss; With these surfaces, the scratches of the insert system can be more visible. The modern style caught my attention, but the design is practical without the traditional buttons, rivets or grooves as there is nowhere for food to get stuck. I washed and dried by hand or according to the instructions. My knife looks perfect after a month with no stains, scratches, rust etc. However, I would have expected it to end up in the dishwasher (e.g. if a friend or family helps clean the kitchen by accidentally throwing my knives throw it in the dishwasher ) car), it will most likely survive unscathed if not left wet. Hast's utility knife features a thin blade with a square, hollow metal handle. It feels balanced to me and has a nimble, lightweight look that I really like. It's also ergonomic and comfortable in my hand, despite having a longer handle than my regular knives. I'm tall and wear a women's glove L/XL and this knife fits naturally in my hand despite the longer handle. But maybe it will seem awkward to someone with small hands (I can't say for sure). I don't think I would choose a metal handle knife for a novice chef, but I feel like I have a secure grip as I like the knife's natural grip, square shape and slightly longer, lighter handle. I try to keep my hands dry, but I've used this knife with damp or wet hands and it hasn't slipped out of my fingers or in accidents. I'm comfortable with the grip, but for a beginner I would go for a more traditional grip. Personally, I am satisfied with the Hast utility knife and I use and enjoy it a lot. Love it. 5 Stars. Made in China.
