. about half a year and still very happy with the results

Had this machine in our office for about half a year and have been very happy with the results so far. It's good for the price, but not a professional device. There are ways to balance this out and still get a strong espresso. My tips for getting the most out of this coffee maker: Since this coffee maker can't cook as much as a professional coffee maker, it's best to start with dark roasted espresso beans to make up for some of the flavor loss. Grind using your favorite method, but I do it in a cheap grinder for 30-35 seconds. Finer grist may clog the filter but may result in better recovery. I fill the large filter basket to the top with a single or double shot. I then apply quite a bit of force (>50 pounds) to the rammer three times, rotating the rammer between them. The next thing to pay attention to is the color of the espresso that comes out. It starts out dark, then brown, and eventually turns brown. You want to stop the car before it turns brown because the brown part is basically muddy water. If you want to go one step further, you can preheat the portafilter and cup by running them without coffee for a few seconds. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. After adjusting my technique, the machine has been reliably making good espresso for the whole office for the past few months.
