I promised myself I would get my new dog a new Petmate Vari kennel so when I brought him home I measured and weighed him carefully but still bought a kennel that proves to be too turned out small. Usually people buy them too big (you just want your dog to sleep in them) but my whippet shrank, bowed his head and raised his legs when I took out the ruler. When the new kennel arrived my dog couldn't quite stand, so I bought the larger Petmate Ultra Vari 36 kennel. When you bolt the top and bottom tight these kennels are really strong. When he is ready to close the door, I sit next to him for 10 minutes daily, then increase the time by 5 minutes each day until the dog has been in the cage for 1 hour.
