I was excited to receive this gate for the top of my stairs because of no trip bar.Upon receiving it I immediately installed it. I was excited to be rid of an old gate that did not work well any longer.But to my surprise this gate is very difficult to operate and almost always required two hands to do so. It is awkward to use when coming up thr staits. If you have things in your arms or hands they have to be removed in order to use both hands to open it.This item was received and installed on the 7th of the month. By the 20th of the month thr top stem that is used to close and lock the gate completely broke off making thr gate unusable.Upon calling customer service they wanted a picture and detailed narrative in order to replace the gate. This is after having the gate in my possession less than one month.I have since decided to order a complete different gate from a different manufacturer.Don't bother spending your money for this gate. Especially if you have young children you will be carrying because you will have to put them down to open and shut the gate.The description souns "too good to be a good buy".
