I didn't get a chance to use it to melt the snow, but the slippery ramp was passable. Now my older dog can walk up and down and so can I. The GFCI on the unit is confusing because it clicks when you press TEST and when you press RESET, so it always sounds like it's blown. Default GFCIs remain enabled on reset. Also, the BIG GFCI is so close to the plug that I can't cover my outdoor "In-Use" weatherproof socket, so it's not weatherproof like it should be when the mat is plugged in. it would be better on the street. And it would be nice if it had some kind of loops at the edges through which you could thread the fasteners so that the whole rug doesn't slip. Hope it lasts and serves its purpose.
