I pulled it out of the box while sitting in my truck and tried to enlarge the mall sign on the street. It focused perfectly at minimum magnification, but at about 25 to maximum it didn't focus on anything. I went home disappointed. I even requested a reauthorization through Revain. Then I bought a real Vanguard spotting scope for $300. I saw it in the store and it works great. I then got into my truck and a few days later looked through the windshield at a new scope with the same horribly blurry result. I haven't returned the Barska yet so I pulled it out and looked at the outside and to my surprise it actually worked pretty well. Now meat. It's lightweight and fairly easy to find at low magnifications, still giving you a better view than most binoculars. You have to be very still to see things at high magnification. Leaning on the vehicle worked great, either against a tree or railing. It's a bit more difficult to get good focus, and there's no eyepiece adjustment for convenience. It's difficult to zoom in while staying still/steady to view unless you mount it on a real tripod. But for β¬30 you really can't go wrong.
