I ordered these after my landscapers brought in mulch for the new season and destroyed my fake sprinkler head with a hidden key. I felt like I needed a safer option anyway, I don't have a sprinkler system so a head was a little suspicious. And even if I need to direct someone to my house, giving them a code is a lot easier than sending them off into the bushes. This lock comes with screws and mounting hardware which we did not use. Instead, I attached this box to my basketball goal. Ironically we have an adjustable lock, my husband didn't want anyone else to be able to adjust it as he was sure they would get it wrong and break it. It's special but not wrong, and the good news is that this key box works well with the entire ensemble. But mixing isn't strictly necessary because this isn't a sprinkler concept, you have to have a combination. It comes with clear instructions and is very easy to program and use. It's the perfect solution for my spare key, but big enough to possibly house a garage door opener.
