I use my Raspberry Pi mainly for light computing and ad blocking for my router. In a normal plastic case, however, I had a constant CPU temperature of around 63 °C. It didn't feel right and could affect my Pi's life (look what I did there). This was the main reason I tried a fan case or passively cooled case (aka metal case). I tried the fan only case and it got me to 42C which was a significant drop. This case offers the best of both worlds as it is partially metal and also has a cooling fan. Metal on the sides, plastic on the top and bottom. It comes with an optional closed lid if you don't want to use a fan. The assembly is not difficult, the whole exchange took about 10 minutes. Getting to the important part, the temperature drop was significant. I had about 35°C at any time of the day. So full marks here. On the other hand, I can see that the bodice is a little loose and that looks like a design flaw. However, this wasn't my priority as my Pi usually stays in one place. If cooling is a priority for you, I haven't seen a better case.
