Review on 🔧 IAC Mercruiser 862998: Optimize Engine Performance with our Idle Air Control! by Trendsetters Hare

Engine keeps stalling after throttling at idle. After installing a new IAC and gasket from this seller, the problem was completely resolved. Very glad the problem is gone. The install also showed that the "IAC Silencer" was missing, so I suspect this may have something to do with the IAC error. I also installed small sponge filters (IAC mufflers) on the carburetor in their seating area. The boat has 230 hours and is equipped with the original IAC. Please note that removing the old IAC was not easy for me. The original IAC is painted and when I tried to remove the old IAC the mounting plate was with it. So I had to remove two hoses from the plate and then disconnect the IAC from the mounting plate. It wasn't easy, I had to gently hammer in between with a spatula (no wire cutters or screwdrivers that can damage the mounting plate). Then there was some paint left on the mounting plate that had to be carefully scraped off to allow the gasket to sit snugly. (i.e. small jobs began to take a little longer). Anyway, I'm so glad I bought the IAC here (and saved $100 on OEM parts) and the engine runs great. No more stalling or hissing at higher revs.
