Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Electronics Labs AV 400 Prograde Composite A/V Distribution Amplifiers: Enhance Your Audio/Video Distribution Efficiency by James Rogers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I use it to extend the life of analog audio equipment.

20 years ago you could buy an A/V receiver with REC IN and REC OUT and later AV IN/AV OUT function for analogue equipment. Then, about 5 years ago, the last major manufacturer started phasing out AV OUT. I was lucky enough to get a Yamaha RX-V677 with AV OUT capability as well as ROOM 2 OUT here at Revain, but I had a lot of analog equipment (cassette decks (reel-to-reel, cassette), CD recorders, VHS, S -VHS and DVD recorders but no way to get REC OUT or AV OUT for all of these devices Cable Electronics Labs AV 400 Prograde Composite A/V Distribution Amplifiers solves this problem for me Let's take the ROOM 2 OUT feature and split them up Multiple AV distribution amplifiers for AUDIO only. This works well and allows an old timer like me to still enjoy good old analog equipment.I use a few of these to feed all my analog gear to my receiver, so when the receiver is off the same thing happens with the distribution amps Now I will have time to work on a 22 year old Yamaha AV receiver to bring it back to life These distribution amps have been working with a 5 year old Yamaha for a long time and a 44-year-old Sansui together.

Pros
  • 1-input 4-outlet distribution amplifier
Cons
  • Low maintenance
