Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice 2 205/50 R17 93T winter by Mateusz Mazurkiewicz ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well done, but I won't buy any more.

In general, I'm satisfied. For many years I left with Velcro, and only after the winter of 2022/19, when all of St. And the next snowless year regretted it. Bought this tire. Operating conditions - Peter - these are temperature jumps of 15 degrees per day, snow in the morning, rain in the afternoon, frost with ice in the evening, uncleaned ring road, and the complete absence of any utility services. The car is light, Volkswagen Golf. On bare asphalt - by 5, controllability as in summer, and both at + and at - 10, there is no difference. Both wet and dry. If the asphalt is covered with a thin film of ice (this is when it looks naked, but gleams promisingly), it is not much worse. On wet and dry snow at 4, it’s not worth scorching, but it keeps confidently up to certain speeds. On the uncleaned KAdu, 80 was driving normally. At the cottage, a 20 cm layer of fresh snow passed calmly. Rolled snow is normal, again, if you don’t scorch. But on ice - 2 points. Doesn't hold at all. On a narrow road, my right wheel hit a tiny hole on the side of the road, so I was simply thrown to the left, the car was carried sideways like a feather. Braked unexpectedly well. However, the speed was slow. So on the ice - slowly, sadly and without turning the steering wheel. It doesn’t drift into a rut, it gets out of the rut without problems. A strange feeling of slight inhibition, as if the car does not react immediately to turning the steering wheel, but after a fraction of a second. Maybe it's because I'm used to harder tires. In general, while everything suits me, the shortcomings are expected, not spikes, tea. If it shows itself worthy in terms of wear resistance, then you can put 5 points.

Pros
  • Excellent behavior on asphalt at any temperature, not bad in the snow, quiet.
Cons
  • On the ice as on skates, and the general feeling of some inhibition of control.
