I wasn't sure if that would work.
I couldn't install this door lock myself (2000 TDI) and had to do it for myself at my local shop for $175 so it would suck if it worked but VW wanted $675 for it this job and I felt it was worth the risk. It was definitely worth the risk, but in the beginning it wasn't very fast in its work, I had to practice several times until it worked properly. I almost returned the machine to the installer before realizing it actually worked. So now I'm happy with the camper, all functions work perfectly.
