Tires didn't fit properly on rim

I've been riding and changing bike tires for 40 years. I know what I am doing. I bought these tires to replace the studded tires that came with a new bike I bought for commuting: I honestly don't understand why so many people mostly ride studded tires on sidewalks; knobby tires for trails, not streets. So I was excited to try these tires. They "look good" on the bike too. A tire I received was fine. The problem is that the other of the first two tires I received couldn't "sit" properly on the rim. As I spun the wheel, there was a distinct and noticeable "bump" in the tire. Tried deflating, reinstalling, checking fit and gradually inflating. I tried putting the tire in the warm Texan sun to open it up. I even swapped out the rim tape, thinking the tape would push the tire off the flange. Nothing helped. So I sent them back and ordered a replacement. None of the replacement batteries fit properly. Same process: install carefully, check for crushing or obstacles, reinstall, inflate, rock, deflate, reset, inflate again carefully, rock, deflate, put in the sun, inflate again, leave under water for a few days. Print. The same problems. I then put on a set of Michelin Country Rock tires (which I had fitted on another bike) just to see if there was any damage to the rim and they fit perfectly on the first try. Now they are sitting on a bicycle. So three of the four tires I tried turned out to be defective. Maybe I just got a bad batch. But I've tried everything. If the tire is wobbly and just needs time to "break in," the wobble is usually imperceptible while driving. They were so bad that it was noticeable when driving: like I was driving on a bumpy road, even though I was driving on smooth asphalt. I gave two stars because one of the first two tires was perfect. They also have an ideal tread pattern for a smooth ride and good traction. But three out of four defective tires indicate a problem. I may have gotten a bad batch, but I lost patience and ordered Michelin tires instead. Get Michelin Country Rock tires instead. I have had another set on another bike (on and off) for 20 years and they are still in good condition. Same profile, same price, but they sit squarely on the rim and don't wobble.
