Ineffective in tools and equipment

Low profile is virtually useless outside. Just installed them today and they look great. Took a short ride and a SMALL piece of glass went right through the thickest part of this tire's tread and deflated the tire. I live in a good neighborhood with an overly active HOA that keeps things clean and tidy. If they are used somewhere outdoors, they will not help you move.

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • Empty

The set shown is "twin tube" but the standard carton size is different. Make sure you follow this to get the package you want. It's hard to find a single decent tire in stores here for less than $50, so two quality mountain bike tires for $45 are a godsend. Tires are strong and tough. The tracks offer a good ride on tarmac and are grippy enough on grass, light sand and gravel. Plus they look cool. Ideal for commuter or police bikes. Let's see how long they last before they get the full five…

Looks good and drives smooth - 2 tires only with yellow letters

The tires came as stated and ordered next day. They are very easy to put on and look great. I've only ridden my bike 10 miles in wet pavement and light rain and it was much quieter than my MTB tires and none of them slipped. I inflated the tires to 40psi as advertised and found that I had more rolling resistance than my MTB tires. I upped the tire pressure to 50psi for my next ride. Let's see how it goes. The only downside I have is that after mounting the tires I now have front wheel wobble…

Really an upgrade! at Tools & Equipment

I ordered this tire to replace the rear tire on my Electra. I've put about 2,000 miles on these tires and a couple of weeks ago, in heavy fog and a slightly slippery road, my bike started to lose grip on corners. As an older biker, I decided I couldn't risk riding that worn tire anymore. I looked at all the tires and settled on this growler tire and wow what a difference. My original tires were 25 x 2, which is 25 x 2,175. and the difference is imperceptible when you look at it but once i got…

Reliable cruiser tire but...

They're heavy and bulky. When I opened the package I was shocked at how heavy these tires are. They are definitely over a pound (maybe 2) each. They are well assembled; They were easy to put on the rim. They're only rated for 40psi, which seems low, but I pumped them up beforehand and they seemed strong enough. When you buy a big fat tire like this, you're probably looking for a softer ride. The ride is decent and I found it great at around 20-25psi on gravel roads and sand. However, and this…

Smooth Cruiser Tire

So after about 20 miles these tires seem smooth and fairly manageable. My fault after the second try. As usual with balloon tires they initially had a slight camber but after a kilometer or two they were ridden and now they are perfectly round. I think the markings (very bold) look good on my Electra rat. which used to have wide white walls. My only dislike, albeit small, is that they can't be raised above 45psi (60psi would be my preference), which doesn't really matter to most people because…

Tires didn't fit properly on rim

I've been riding and changing bike tires for 40 years. I know what I am doing. I bought these tires to replace the studded tires that came with a new bike I bought for commuting: I honestly don't understand why so many people mostly ride studded tires on sidewalks; knobby tires for trails, not streets. So I was excited to try these tires. They "look good" on the bike too. A tire I received was fine. The problem is that the other of the first two tires I received couldn't "sit" properly on the…
