I'm writing this to take a comprehensive look at my ordering process and thought process. I've seen this case before when looking at cases for my Raspberry Pi 3 and 3B+, but didn't have a chance to test it until recently. Like many others, it's well built and has an inner case that acts as a heatsink, dispersing heat evenly throughout the case. At first I didn't know how to place the Pi 3B+ in it, but I found a video that suggested placing the board with the HDMI connector first, and then laying down the other side naturally for proper alignment and fit receive. The included thermal pad seemed to stick and hold the Pi in place when I reached for the screws, but I was a bit surprised to see that the included hardware didn't fit properly. They don't screw all the way in and I didn't want to use excessive force trying to get the screws in: they just wouldn't go in. Others have tested and reported the same thing, but DO NOT let that stop you from getting this case. I contacted customer service and was quickly helped by Jason, a Flirc representative. After describing the problem, he informed me that it was a "out of tolerance" and that replacement screws were on the way. After a slight postal delay (out of our control) the screws arrived and I was curious to try them as they looked exactly like the hardware that came with them. They fit perfectly and screw together smoothly and precisely. At first I was concerned that I was looking at the bottom black panel that sits under the main body of the case as it sat a bit crooked without fasteners. But after thinking about it, I realized it must be so special to offset the fee when it's in. After driving 3 screws it still didn't sit flat, but the fourth screw did the trick with satisfactory clamping action and body alignment. The end result is beautifully crafted hardware that looks great and feels good in the hand. If some bad screw reviews are keeping you from buying this case, don't let that put you off. Contact them and they will get back to you to fix everything. I appreciate Jason's support at Flirc. He went above and beyond to make sure I was working with the right parts. In the future I will be sure to replace my current Pi cases with this Flirc case. This company stands behind their products and will support you!
