I have bought about 40 of these drives for different setups in the last 6-8 years. these are decent wheels. work fine, fairly fast for spinning disks. However, they are not the most stable. In my last order for 4 disks to fill a raid array, 1 was fully DOA. Discs purchased in the last 2 years. about 80% of them are still working. it's a cheap drive. If you get a good one, it should be good for a few years. if not, he either dies upon arrival or within a year. UPDATE: So the last one I installed started having problems. I checked the smart status on the drive and it showed THOUSANDS of hours of use - it's obviously either fully used or refurbished when sold new. It made me stop and check out the rest - they're iffy, but not nearly as bad.
