Product works but gets very hot

This product gets EXTREMELY hot in use. Hot enough to burn skin and hot enough to warp plastic and overheat any USB or ethernet cable connected to it. After about an hour of use, the USB ports stopped working due to overheating, but the Ethernet port still works. I have an Anker brand adapter that looks similar but does NOT have an overheating issue. It's probably worth paying the extra and getting a branded product instead.
