Review on WIX Filters 49017 Filter Pack by Robert Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow! Doesn't matter!

After reading a really interesting article about an in-depth study comparing various paper and oil air filters, I decided to try this Wix paper filter on my 2013 Ford Escape. . My consumption was around 24-25mpg with decent overclocking performance and the OEM filter was in good shape so I wasn't sure if the switch would do anything at all. When I received the filter it fell off. quick and easy no problem at all. And the difference was immediately noticeable! Four tanks of gas later, I'm happy to report that I've gotten 28-29 mpg on every tank of gas since I switched to the new Wix! The difference in performance is not small either. It's really nice to have that extra power when merging onto the freeway or passing a slow moving truck etc. I have a small 1.6 liter turbocharged EcoBoost so the increased airflow makes a big difference but I expect the 2.0 liter turbo will experience a similar boost. I'm not sure if non-turbo engines benefit as much as their turbo counterparts, but Wix filters aren't that much more expensive than OEM filters, so any gain should be worth the slight price increase. And the last consideration. I've seen many testimonials from customers who are having trouble installing a replacement Wix filter on their vehicle. Be sure to search the Wix website for the correct part number for your specific vehicle. The first part number I found on Revain that Revain says fits my car was the wrong part (thank god I checked the Wix website for the right part). Crowd). If you get the right part, it will fit perfectly.
