would have given 5 stars but after a few days of using all ports. Going down to 3. The USB ports work great and are out of the question. The problem starts when you want to transfer files between 2 hard drives or use 2 or more USB ports of this device at the same time while skipping power. USB devices should continue to work after powering off, but they also turn off. Any unsaved data will be lost or the connected hard drive will be damaged because it cannot be safely disconnected. The second problem I noticed is related to HDMI: the TV screen keeps flickering and the signals are not constant. As for the USB issue, you must plan to charge your MBP directly instead of through it, and you only do it for ports. 3 stars are ports and 2 are USB and HDMI issues. The network port is OK. and I haven't tested the card reader yet.
