This corresponds to the speed class advertised by Comcast.
I bought this device because it was on Comcast's list of approved devices for my region and because the package I received was so fast. Initially, I had some problems with the computer, which significantly limited its speed. I called Comcast to fix the problem and they said the modem is old and unsupported and I need a newer modem to get the advertised speed. After I fixed the problems with the computer, everything worked fine. Keep in mind that Comcast doesn't want to support this modem and may just disable it at some point.
