My son loves them for collecting bugs. It is also suitable for small frogs or lizards, although I don't want to keep them in this set permanently. We ordered these after he was trying to hold a large praying mantis in a smaller container and I was concerned he couldn't turn around properly. It has enough space to create a nice habitat for all kinds of creepy crawlies, and the handle and lid are sturdy, even with quite a heavy weight inside. One of the first ones we ordered didn't have a handle. We were able to exchange it without any problems and the new one was there within a few days.
