This set is handy for small jobs around the house. These eco-friendly blades are definitely not professional and are meant for casual/light use. They are cheaper than similar economy blades in big stores. I wish the blades were thicker. My guess is that they were designed with that depth based on the strength of the blades. The blades are medium thickness but I assume the metal is softer than the more expensive blades. As previously mentioned, these blades are not designed to cut through tougher wood or metal. The blades have a hole drilling guide. So if you have access to the other side of the board you can use the pilot hole to drill the other side to get through thicker boards. These blades are well suited for what they were designed for: simple, random holes in the softer, thinner woods commonly found in the home.
