Other 3M filters I have purchased have metal meshes on both sides of the filter. This one only has a metal grille on one side, which exacerbates this problem. The filter lost its shape and became so bulky when installed that it was difficult to remove. It went in a 1" slit but came out maybe 2 1/2" thick. I had to pull it out of its nest and I'm just glad the cardboard frame held up. I bought 2 packs. The picture shows the second (still new) filter on the back (which still shows the harmonica shape characteristic of these filters) and the one I took out after 3 months of use in fairly moderate conditions. It looks like a deflated balloon. I replaced it with a traditional 3M 1200 which I know will not warp with use.
