For this lock to work on the left side door, you must turn the knob vigorously until it clicks and rotates in the opposite direction. This isn't described in the instructions and I had to call support for directions. However, I like not having to hunt for keys and not worry about getting blocked. Best of all, you can give anyone you need to let into your home a code or create a temporary code and change or re-enter the code instantly. Kwikset even makes a padlock that can be customized to fit your house key. Perhaps not a very high level of security, but suitable for use in residential areas where there are many other routes to your home. The construction is impact and break resistant. I really like this castle a lot.
