Review on ๐Ÿ“€ Enhanced Sony UBP-X700M 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player for Home Theater Streaming with included HDMI Cable by Jeremy Carpenter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Please use the supplied HDMI 4k cable!

This is a Blu-ray player. he is doing his job. like a fridge. You open the door, the light goes on, the milk is cold. I'm far from an expert, but I know I like it when I see it. This "upscaling" player makes our DVD library a little bit better. I haven't tried 4K Blu-Ray yet. A few years ago we had "good" HDMI cables. First I tried using the old cable (just unplugged the old player, unplugged the cable from the back and plugged the cable into the new player. Easy, ok). The new player played for a few seconds, the screen went black, then turned on again and then went black. you have the idea I swapped out our old, "good" cable for the included HDMI 4k cable and everything changed immediately. (I've read that most people don't need expensive cables. Cheap cables are fine as long as they're rated for 4k Ultra). We only use our player as a playback device. The apps included are duplicates of what is on our 4k TV. I can't rate them. The only thing I don't like is the remote control. he is quite small. I'm old, my eyes aren't what they used to be, my fine motor skills aren't what they used to be. Give me a BIG remote control anytime. (This is in no way a breach of the Terms and Conditions). The prices for this device appear to be very competitive. I can't imagine the $250 Crutchfield player I was considering doing much better than this Sony. (I could be wrong. Who knows.)
